Why I built FieldSoftwareGuide

Most “best field service management software” lists are written by people who have never used the tools - or priced them. They rank whoever pays the biggest affiliate commission, copy pricing that went stale two years ago, and call it research. If you run a trades business, that's worse than useless: it costs you money and weeks of your time.

That frustrated me enough to build something better. FieldSoftwareGuide is an independent comparison site for field service management (FSM) software, built for the trades - HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and everyone who runs a crew in the field.

Two things make it different. First, every price is verified against the vendor's own pricing page - not guessed, not lifted from an outdated blog post. If a vendor hides pricing, I say so instead of inventing a number. Second, I compare by industry, because the right tool for a plumbing outfit with three trucks isn't the right tool for a national HVAC franchise.

It also keeps me sharp at my day job. I spend most of my time helping businesses put AI to work, and the trades are a perfect example - full of manual scheduling and paperwork that good software (and a little automation) can eliminate. Building the guide keeps me close to real operational problems instead of theory.

If you run a field service business, start with FieldSoftwareGuide. And if you want help putting AI to work in your own company, let's talk.
